This violin bow was made in the Klier workshop located in Bubenreuth, Germany. The Klier family has been making violins since 1887 with Johann Klier who set up his own workshop in Schönbach, Egerland. Johann passed away in 1918 & the workshop was passed to his eldest son, Otto Josef Klier. The Klier workshop have a wide range of products from good-quality student-intermediate options to more advanced instruments & bows. All instruments & bows are unique & of a very high standard, crafted by skilled makers with naturally aged timber.

This violin bow is stamped ‘*Otto Jos. Klier*’ & weighs 61.60 grams. This stick is rounded & made from fine pernambucco. It measures 745mm in length & has silver wire lapping. It has a fine ebony frog & is silver mounted with a mother of pearl eye. This bow has a three-part button with two parts silver & one-part ebony. 

This violin bow has a strong & well-balanced stick with an outstanding level of control that facilitates more complex strokes such as spiccato, ricochet & sautillé. It boasts a bright sound with bold projection & a good level of clarity & focus. This bow would be suitable for advanced level players & early tertiary level study.
