The newly released 2024 Andante II cello showcase high-quality tonewoods and maintained all ebony fittings, including pegs, fingerboard, and endpin button.

What is the difference between the Andante II and Andante III?
The Andante II is made from higher-grade spruce and maple, often referred to as "selected from the finer stock." The maple used for the back, sides, neck, and scroll often features a more pronounced flame pattern. Generally, the woods selected for this cello have a longer aging period for improved stability, acoustic properties, and durability.
Why are the Andante II cellos so suitable for beginner-intermediate players?
A key feature of our Orion brand remains unchanged: every cello is hand-set up in Australia for superior quality control. This includes precision adjustments to the bridge carving, soundpost positioning, and nut height. Additionally, we replace the standard strings with a premium $250 set of Armonico Solare strings, delivering a warm, rich tone.
Our Australian luthiers and apprentices ensure every cello is expertly prepared so that every player has an equal opportunity to enjoy a well-made instrument. With the Andante violins, we’ve maintained the same price as the previous OVC80 models.
The term "outfit" means this cello comes complete with a thick padded bag and bow.
