This violin bow was made in the Japanese workshop ‘Archet.’ The Archet workshop has been active since 1983. Their bows are inspired by the master French bow makers such as Tourte, Peccatte & Sartory.

This violin bow is stamped ‘Archet A Tokio,’ and is one of the Archet workshops high-grade bows. This bow weighs 60.3 grams & is made from fine pernambucco. Archet pride themselves on having some of the finest quality pernambucco that is currently available anywhere in the world. The stick has been rounded & measures 743mm in length. It has silver lapping & an ebony frog. It is silver mounted with a shell eye. This bow is based on a Peccatte model.
This bow has a strong stick & a heavier feel to it. It has a big & powerful sound. It is well-balanced and has a good level of control, particularly with the heavier strokes. This bow would be suitable for early tertiary study and the advanced musician.
