The ORION OVA100 features a spruce top with maple back and sides, handcrafted in the Orion award winning workshop, which specialises exclusively in stringed instruments. As part of Orion’s entry-level viola line, the OVA100 is designed for student to intermediate players, yet no shortcuts are taken in its construction, every instrument is carefully made by hand from start to finish.
Each viola is crafted from high-quality timbers, with the top and back plates shaped by hand, the sides steamed and bent, and all fittings carved and assembled entirely by skilled luthiers. Orion obtains thousands of tonewoods yearly, allowing them to naturally air-dry before use, ensuring each instrument is built from carefully matured wood.
The OVA100 produces a warm, rich sound in the lower register and a clear, focused tone in the upper register, making it ideal for players at Grade 1–3. The viola comes complete with a bow and a quality case, ready for students to begin their musical journey.
