Founded in 1998 by Joe and Kristen Souza, the company is dedicated to producing top-tier instruments with a focus on traditional Hawaiian aesthetics and modern advancements.

HNS Series (Honus – Turtles)

The Honu Series is high on our list of favorites and is crafted in Hawai`i by Kanilea's talented team of professional luthiers. This `ukulele pays homage to the beautiful ocean that surrounds the island home of Hawai`i.

Built on the foundation of the K-1 model’s excellent resonance and sustain, this Kanile`a `Ukulele Honu premium tenor `ukulele comes in a premium protective carrying case. With a solid Mahogany neck, Ebony fingerboard, bridge and head plate as well as a UV-cured finish, you won’t be disappointed.

The Honu is a prime choice for you if you love and appreciate Hawai`i, the clear water, and our beautiful blue planet. An exquisite detail added to the front of this curly Koa soundboard is an inlay of three playful honu (turtles) cut from New Zealand pāua (abalone).
