The ORION OOB1200S-M has a full conservatoire (semi-automatic) system, made for advancing and professional oboe players. The 1200S model projects a full bodied, mellow, and tonal quality rich nuances grace to the high quality African ebony used. Tested and approved by professional musicians and teachers to be a suitable playing oboe with extremely precise intonations!
Quality Body Materials
The 1200S model is built from African ebony, which are selected and carved to precise measurements prior to building. The African blackwood then goes through our specialised kiln drying process to extract moisture from the wood for several months. The wood is then tested over a period of 6-12 months to ensure that the final product is lasting and will not easily crack. The result of the wood treating process is a strong bodied, and an accurate carved tube ready for the keys mechanism to be fitted.
Every 1200S model's keywork is made and fitted only by our best technicians as it is a complex mechanism that requires the most experienced hands.
Playing System
The 1200S model lends its build and keywork style to a famous French oboe specialist. It features a full conservatoire keywork with semi-automatic octave system
