Student Instrument Upgrade Program
A quality student instrument is essential for starting a musician’s journey on the right foot. A well-made instrument supports the development of good technique, responds reliably, and works with the player rather than against them. Poorly made instruments, on the other hand, often lead to frustration, discouragement, and ongoing maintenance issues that can quickly become costly or impossible to resolve.
We also understand that purchasing a good student instrument can feel like a significant investment, particularly when a student is still at the beginning of their musical journey. To help provide peace of mind and better long-term value, Crescendo Music offers Buy-Back and Trade-Up programs on eligible student instruments.
Trade-Up
As a student progresses, we may offer a trade-up credit of up to 75% of the original purchase price when upgrading to a more suitable instrument.
Trade-up values vary by instrument type, condition, and upgrade level.
Buy-Back
If your instrument no longer suits your needs, we may offer a buy-back of up to 50% of the original purchase price, when returned within two years of purchase.

Program Conditions

The instrument must have been purchased from Crescendo Music.

The instrument must be returned in fair and reasonable condition. Any damage, faults, or excessive wear will reduce the buy-back or trade-up value.

Crescendo Music provides adjustments at no cost during the applicable period. Work carried out by unauthorised technicians may void warranty and affect eligibility.

As a condition of these offers, the instrument must have received at least one Comprehensive Service by Crescendo Music prior to return (unless purchased within the previous 12 months).

Comprehensive servicing is subject to a fixed, capped service fee. Instruments that have not been serviced may still be eligible, however the final value will depend on condition following assessment.
