The Grazioso I Series Violin is one of our most popular models and a long-time favourite among teachers, particularly for intermediate to advancing students preparing for higher examination grades or seeking a more serious step-up instrument.
Like the other violins in the Grazioso range, the Grazioso I is designed with excellent tonal balance, avoiding an overly bright or overly warm character, and delivering an even response across both lower and upper registers. Compared with the Grazioso II, the Grazioso I offers a larger, silkier sound with richer overtones, making it exceptionally versatile in both solo performance and ensemble playing.
For students following AMEB pathways, we believe this violin is especially well suited to advancing players around a Grade 4–6 standard.
Visually, the Grazioso I features a soft brown antiqued varnish, giving the instrument the appearance and character of a beautifully played and naturally aged violin.
Both the Grazioso I and Grazioso II feature a one-piece maple back, while the Grazioso III is constructed with a two-piece back. As timber selection varies between shipments, please contact us to confirm current stock availability, as we cannot guarantee one-piece backs are available at all times.
What is the difference between the Andante and Grazioso series violins?
While both Andante and Grazioso series violins are made from our award-winning workshop, the Grazioso violins offer a beautiful visual appeal with the antiqued finish and brown varnish. All Grazioso violins are made from maple with more 'flame' and generally tighter grain spruce woods.
Why is the Grazioso series great for Intermediate players?
The Grazioso violins deliver a more complex tonal range and generally a 'bigger' sound, offering an unparalleled sound experience in its price range. It provides beginners/intermediate players with the opportunity to produce rich, resonant tones that rival those of higher-end violins, making it ideal for progressing musicians. With the same violin-making techniques applied to our higher series models, the Grazioso violins represents a work of art with beautiful tonal quality, and playability—making it the perfect choice for a timeless violin.
Our Australian luthiers and apprentices ensure every violin is expertly prepared so that every player has an equal opportunity to enjoy a well-made instrument.
The term "outfit" means this violin comes complete with a case and bow. It includes an oblong (rectangular) case with plenty of pocket space and a wooden bow with an ebony frog.
