This violin was made by Hagen Weise in Baiersdorf, in 2024. Weise has been active since 1991 when he commenced work for the Roderisch Paesold Company in Bubenreuth, Germany. In 2004 Weise successfully completed his master violin-making examination. Since 2010 Weise has been dedicated to making fine instruments in his own workshop, often experimenting with different kinds of woods and models of different makers. The instrument also comes with a certificate of authenticity from Weise.

The violin is labelled 'Hagen Weise / Baiersdorf März 2024 "Hubermann"', is signed by Hagen, and is modelled after Stradivarius' 'Hubermann' violin. The body measures 355mm along the back, 162mm across the upper bouts and 206 across the lower bouts. It has a one-piece back made from thermo-modified Cherrywood, as opposed to traditional maple, with well-matched ribs and scroll. The top is spruce, and the violin is finished with an amber varnish and ebony fittings.

It has a powerful, direct character which could fill a concert hall as easily as it could a living room, and easily captures even the most brusque of characters one might encounter in the concerto repertoire. At a quiet dynamic, this directness manifests as clarity, and as such it works just as well in chamber settings like sonatas with piano or quartets. It is quite comfortable to play and would be perfectly suited to someone completing their tertiary study, or a professional engaged in a number of different performance situations.
