Class A Preamps
The microphone preamps in the MF-22 are designed to offer extremely low distortion, and a very high dynamic range at 98dB. This is ideal for commercial and professional applications. Naturally, true 48v is provided for your condenser microphones, and there are seperate gain controls for the XLR input.
FET Guitar Preamps
The preamps designed for direct guitar/bass inputs allow for quick setups ensuring ideal signals for recording, with a maximum gain of 46dB. This setup allows for excellent noise reduction. It also is an ideal pathway to connect your acoustic instruments, especially if using piezo pickups. FET preamps are for ensuring no impedance issues, and operate in a manner somewhat analogous to vacuum tubes.
Quality Connections and Recordings
The MF-2 features 2 XLR mic inputs, 2 x 1/4" guitar jack inputs and 2 headphone inputs - one with a TRS 1/4" and the other with a 3.5mm TRS jack input. The outputs are XLR connections. Connect your laptop or computer via the USB 2.0 input. The pots on the top of the MF-22 offer seperate gain controls for the mic and guitar inputs. There are also control pots for the monitor, the USB playback and headphone level. A 48v switch is featured as well. Seperate switches are found for stereo or mono signals for the mic and guitar inputs. Peak and signal lights for the input are there, as well as for the monitor control and 48v. The sturdy tough metal housing makes this ideal for gigging on the road. The MF-22 is powered via the USB bus, however you can also choose to use a DC 5V, 500mA power supply (not included).
