This violin was made in the workshop of master luthier Klaus Clement. Clement began learning the art of violin-making in the workshop of Karl Hoefner/Paesold in Bubenreuth, Germany. In 2010 Clement opened his own workshop in Leipzig, Germany. He is an active member in many organisations including the association of German Violin & Bow Makers. This instrument comes with a certificate, declaration of materials and photos from the maker.
The V3 has a two-piece maple back while the top is made from spruce. This instrument is based on a Stradivarius violin model & has ebony fittings. This violin has been lightly shaded with a good cover of golden to orange-brown varnish. Klaus Clement is particularly well-known for his varnishing. The formula he uses is constantly changing & improving as he investigates the effect of the varnish on the sound of his instruments.
Overall this violin has a clear & crisp sound that beautifully articulates each note. It is slightly warmer and more complex than the V3 Guarneri model with a well-balanced tone & a fast response time. This instrument is ideal for the late intermediate to advanced musician. This model is usually fitted with Thomastik Vision strings to give more brightness and projection to the sound.
