ORION is pleased to release their final model in the lineup to complete the seven stars in the Orion constellation - the Rigel ukulele. Since debuting in 2022 with 5 models, then late 2023 Betelgeuse was introduced as an orange-red star (using red cedar top), now completing the 7 stars with Rigel as the bright blue-white supergiant star.
All Orions are complemented with a quality thick-padded carry bag and an active pickup system.
Catering to the interests of fingerpicking style players, ORION ukuleles are blueprinted to replicate the dimensions of the OM Acoustic Guitar body shape, thus making them ideal for those who are at an advanced level of playing.
Introducing The Rigel
Each ORION ukulele is inspired by a star within the iconic constellation. Named after its brightest star, this model captures clean, bright and brilliant tones thanks to its flamed maple construction, which excels at resonating in the upper frequency spectrum. The flamed maple continues across the back and sides, creating a cohesive, striking look.
The Rigel features a captivating red-to-blue fade stain over the shimmering maple body, sealed with an ultra-thin polyurethane coat for enhanced durability and finished in a sleek high gloss. An integrated end pin doubles as the jack input for amplified play. Completing the celestial design, the binding and rosette are set with abalone inlays, evoking the beauty of a nebula.
The pearl dot inlays spread across the fingerboard are sequenced in a way that emulates the seven most recognised stars in the Orion constellation, giving the fret markers a decorative layout exclusive to this brand name. The bridge houses a compensated saddle for superior intonation, and serves as a string-thru body for improved resonance. The thin and lowered fretwires are seamless and soft to play on, forgiving to beginners if they overlap the adjacent frets with their fingertips.
High Grade Pickup System
The Double Ukulele Pickup Systems deliver a superbly amplified tone with much simplicity and little hassle. These pickups were formulated to accurately reproduce the raw input of your uke and give you flexibility when performing.
The unit is powered by two CR2032 batteries, sustaining a lengthy amount of playtime and endurance, and the battery compartment is conveniently located just under the control panel in a patented “flip out” cradle for quick exchange. Say goodbye to detuning and slackening your strings for the sake of changing out your batteries.
