In 1970 “SIGMA”, the brandname for acoustic guitars, was launched.
They were built by specially trained staff in the most efficient guitar factories in Japan and then sent to the US for inspection before being released for sale and shipping to the music stores. “Sigma Guitars” were soon to have an excellent, yes even legendary, reputation. Some models were said to be of outstanding quality, both, in construction and sound. That’s why it is striking.
The company AMI feel committed and obliged to this tradition. As a distributor of fine acoustic and classical guitars for over 25 years, it is a great honour that we were able to obtain for some parts of the world the rights of the time-honoured name “Sigma Guitars Est. 1970” as well as the distinct Sigma logo.
Sigma 1997 Artist Signature
Traditional country-acoustic guitar with solid tonewoods and including softshell case
The Sigma DT-42 Nashville convinces with its noble black country design, its solid tonewoods and last but not least its powerful sound. The flat neck with low profile also guarantees an extremely obliging playability in all 20 frets. These are marked with star-shaped inlays that tastefully complement the overall appearance. In addition to the high-quality bone hardware, the traditional dreadnought Western guitar is equipped with gold open-gear tuners that allow precise tuning of the 6 steel strings. With the help of the built-in L.R.
Construction and woods
Due to the large dreadnought shape, the guitar produces a wide and warm sound, making it extremely well suited for vocal accompaniment and expressive strumming. In order for the instrument to produce a balanced sound, the top is made of Sitka spruce and the body of rosewood. Furthermore, the mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard promises a comfortable grip.
Hardware and Design
The combination of a compensated bridge inlay and a 44,5 mm wide nut ensures a clean intonation on the whole scale length of 645 mm. Equipped with gold Grover tuners, the guitar can be tuned easily and accurately. Visually, the instrument is undoubtedly rounded off by the black high-gloss finish, which is accentuated by white multi-ply bindings, an extensive soundhole rosette and an eye-catching inlay on the headstock.
