The ORION OVL900 is handmade by our senior luthier in the ORION workshop. This model is handcrafted with great attention to detail; from selecting the highest grade European spruce and maple that has been dried for over 10 years, hand-planing the plates to an accurate thickness, and hand varnished and antiqued. The OVL900 is hand selected by our staff musicians, tested and trialed on-site before they arrive in Australia.
The 900 model offers a focused, rich and mature sonority despite being a smaller violin. Built to a 7/8 size, this is suited for violinists looking for a comfortable, smaller size violin. To compensate for the shorter scale length (and smaller body), the top and bottom plates of the violin have been carved with a deeper curve (depth) which allows more space for the violin to resonate. This significantly improves the volume of the violin. This model is made from our multi Award-Winning workshop in Beijing, under strict guidance of our crafts master.
