The Flight Iris 8 Tenor is an eight string ukulele, Flight's first multi-string ukulele.This eight-string ukulele offers a unique playing experience with four pairs of strings, tuned to Gg CC EE AA. An eight string ukulele creates a sound unlike any other ukulele-strong, and full of character. While tuning an eight string ukulele takes more time than tuning a four string ukulele, the playing difference is not widely different, as your fingers will feel each course of two strings as a single larger string.
Like the standard four string Flight Iris Concert and Tenor models, the Iris 8 boasts a painted solid spruce top with laminate mahogany back and sides. The Iris includes a pickguard, slotted headstock, rear-facing Der Jung tuners, offset front position markers, a 45mm nut, fluorocarbon strings, and gig bag. Unlike our standard Iris models, the Iris 8 includes an active pickup, so that you can easily share your unique sounds with the world.
