PJE Dark Roast - Earth
The all new PJE Legacy Series guitar in Earth body shape features a familiar OM Cutaway body shape, built from all solid African Mahogany with a unique touch. Every tonewood in the this series have gone through a torrifaction process, or roasting.
This laborious step ensures that our high grade mahogany is dried to re-moisturised to a precise level. We ensure that the kiln is set to control the atmospheric and oxygen levels, in order to stabilise the mahogany. This process aurally improves the quality of the guitar, introducing a rich and mature voicing which would usually take 20 years of conditioning, given the right environment .
The Legacy Dark Roast's physical colour reflected its tonal palette too with a rich and controlled low end, well-balanced mids, as well as a treble range with remarkable headroom.
The rest of this Dark Roast is then topped with Ebony fingerboard, bindings, bridges and a beautifully grained Ebony pickguard.
The Earth shape is made based off Patrick's ‘Linville’ model. Although sharing many geometric characteristics with our highly acclaimed Venus shape, the Earth has its own set of distinguishing features that make for a unique tonal palette, plus it is truly unique, having been drawn by Patrick’s own hand.
In true OM fashion, its 15” lower bout is flattened at the base, and at 4.45” deep, its shallow body makes for a comfortable mid-sized guitar.
Stage Ready with Fishman Flex-T
Electronics are courtesy of Fishman’s Flex-T Blend system which incorporates an undersaddle piezo with a condenser mic.
The Dark Roast model is fitted with Fishman’s new knob-based Flex Series. Featuring a small and unobtrusive footprint, with controls for volume and tone controls to the technologically advanced tuner and luxe knobs. This pickup pairs an undersaddle piezo with a condenser mic which introduces a whole new level of performance capability. This truly brings an acoustic guitar to live, even when it's plugged in.
