Launching in Western Australia with two distinctive models, Greentone Guitars are set on developing steel-string acoustic instruments that specialise in the field of fingerstyle picking.
Made recognisable by its distinctly attractive centre grain, the 'Bohemian' model by Greentone is predominantly constructed with Pau Ferro, a tonewood that is imported from South America, which is also known as "Brazilian ironwood". Featuring properties comparable to both ebony and rosewood, the woods tendency to absorb fewer frequencies results in a subjectively brighter tone, whilst retaining the same level of depth and fullness found with other common wood types.
The 'Bohemian' model features an upper fret access point with the cutaway feature, an essential component of fingerpicking, especially when using a capo. The saddle is optimised for fingerstyle playing, with the action lowered to accommodate quick hammer-ons/pull-offs and successive plucking.
Greentone models are built with a rosewood bevelled armrest to serve two primary purposes:
- comfortability when resting the picking hand on the edge of the guitar, as fingerstyle usually requires the guitarist to hold a constant position on the edge.
- ease of adding percussive parts - when introducing percussive beats or pulses, the lowered edge allows the palm to strike to guitar top easier.
Strung with D'Addario 11-52 gauge strings, the 'Bohemian' by Greentone is ready to play straight out the box!
