Launching in Western Australia with two distinctive models, Greentone Guitars are set on developing steel-string acoustic instruments that specialise in the field of fingerstyle picking.
The flamboyance and glossiness of the 'Groove' model draws the spotlight to the performer, specifically for solo guitarists. Highly detailed with shiny abalone applied to the purfling, rosette and fretboard, the stunning solid cedar top contrasts nicely with the blackened walnut back and sides. This wood combination adds much needed depth to both the overall sound quality as well as its visual aesthetic.
The 'Groove' model features an upper fret access point with the cutaway feature, an essential component of fingerpicking, especially when using a capo. The saddle is optimised for fingerstyle playing, with the action lowered to accommodate quick hammer-ons/pull-offs and successive plucking.
Greentone models are built with a rosewood bevelled armrest to serve two primary purposes:
- comfortability when resting the picking hand on the edge of the guitar, as fingerstyle usually requires the guitarist to hold a constant position on the edge.
- ease of adding percussive parts - when introducing percussive beats or pulses, the lowered edge allows the palm to strike to guitar top easier.
Cedar has been known to be the top choice for fingerpicking, evident in traditional Spanish music and a majority of the worlds best classical guitars. Its warm tonal properties present a profound and well-balanced overtone, filling the room with a soothing ambience. An abundance of abalone occupies much of the fingerboard in a decorative flower pattern, making this guitar stand apart from many others.
Strung with D'Addario 11-52 gauge strings, the 'Groove' by Greentone is ready to play straight out the box!
